Radon Testing
Northern Environmental offers two different testing options to fit the needs of our customers.
The first testing option is a full radon service option. Our technician will come to your house and test your house for Radon. We will explain what house conditions must be kept so you will receive an accurate test. Testing is conducted for 48 hours of continuous monitoring. Upon conclusion of the test, our technician will retrieve the testing device and you will have your testing results within 24 hours. This is the testing option that is recognized in real estate transactions.
The other option would be to purchase a DIY testing kit . The cost of these test kits are $45 and includes instructions for testing and a postage paid package to send the tester back to be analyzed. You will receive the results from the testing company but not a testing report from Northern Environmental. The results will be mailed to you and should be received in one to two weeks. These test are accurate, however they are only accurate if conducted in accordance with EPA guidelines.
Radon Mitigation
We at Northern Environmental specialize in working with real estate transactions. We can normally have a system installed, and follow up test results supplied to our clients within 7 days of the initial call. We realize Real Estate transactions can be a stressful time when dealing with all of the aspects of a real estate transaction and work to make the mitigation of your property as painless as possible. As part of our services for radon mitigation in PA, we work around your schedule and can arrange installs on weekends if needed. Mitigation cost vary depending on house details (size, foundation type, basement floor plan, etc)
System costs can range between $800-$2500 dollars (most fall into the $800-$1000 range).
System Repair
We not only test and install systems, we also troubleshot and fix systems. We fix the other guys mistakes! We preform fan change outs, and every fan we install comes with a 5 year warranty. We can also evaluate your current system, make recommendations, and fix any issues.
